How Does Net Nanny 6 for PC Work?

When web filtering Net Nanny conducts a 3 stage analysis of web content (most competitors do just the first 2!)

1. Pre-categorised database of “good and bad” URLs and compares against your user profile.

2. URL keyword analysis – Net Nanny analyses the address bar – eg, www.sexyladies.com and compares against your user profile.

3. Dynamic contextual analysis - page scans - Where Net Nanny stands out from the competitionusing patented technology – Net Nanny's patented dynamic contextual analysis has the ability to analyse words/phrases on incoming web page in order to categorise a site.

Net Nanny Can distinguish between “prescription drugs” vs “drug paraphernalia”.

Net Nanny looks at the links to and from the requested web page to analyse their content.

For example, use the term "Blue Tit" to search for a common woodland bird. The google result lists a host of results with the term "blue tit".

What Net Nanny now does is looks at the links to and from all of the search results. Pages linking to other sites with similarcontent, ie sparrows, crows would be allowed, although pages with banned content with dubious links would not.
